WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Gi BJJ
Gi Jiu-Jitsu will focus mainly on the sport aspect of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and will help familiarize jiu-jitsu practitioners with the positions, purpose, and concepts of Jiu-Jitsu. Each class will consist of a warm-up, learning and drilling new techniques, and either live rolling (sparring) or positional sparring. As stated in the name of the class, a BJJ gi is required.
No Gi BJJ
This Jiu-Jitsu class will be almost identical to the Gi BJJ class with the exception on uniform requirements. Instead of a Jiu-Jitsu gi, students will be asked to wear grappling shorts and a rashguard, or some other type of compression gear.
Intersectional BJJ/Womxn’s BJJ
This class is offered to marginalized genders including women, women-identifying individuals, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people in order to provide a comfortable space that centers on the experiences of women in Jiu-Jitsu. Open to anyone who does not identify as male.
BJJ Competition Training
Competition Training consists of positional sparring, utilizing some of the most common positions in BJJ. We work to escape bad positions and use our Jiu-Jitsu to experiment with techniques in a safe-to-fail environment. This class is mandatory for students who wish to participate in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.
Jiu-Jitsu Open Mat
Open mat is a chance for every Jiu-Jitsu practitioner to come in for extra sparring aka “rolling”, or drilling techniques, or just running through a BJJ game plan. Open mat is open to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students of multiple affiliations. We believe in cross-training to better uplift our Jiu-Jitsu skills and abilities. The BJJ Open Mat is mandatory for students who wish to participate in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.
Takedowns for Beginners
Our takedowns for beginners class is built from the best standing grappling techniques found in Jiu-Jitsu, catch wrestling, and Jeet Kun Do. While the class will mainly focus on takedowns for the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it also covers techniques used in Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) and MMA.
